In 2024, public perception of Viettel’s commitment to sustainability is estimated at $756 million. This is the second year Brand Finance has measured this value, with Viettel leading for two consecutive years, outpacing other brands in sectors like telecommunications, F&B, banking, and real estate by 3 to 7 times.

According to Brand Finance, this valuation reflects consumer assessments of the company's commitment to sustainable development. It highlights public recognition of Viettel’s technological and financial contributions to societal issues, improving quality of life for Vietnamese citizens.

This assessment contributes to Viettel’s overall brand value of $8.9 billion, marking it as the most valuable Vietnamese brand for nine years in a row. Viettel was also the only brand among the top three most valuable brands in Vietnam in 2023 to maintain brand value growth.

Explaining Viettel’s ability to sustain growth compared to other brands, Brand Finance cited its 5G deployment plans, customer evaluations of product and service quality, and commitment to sustainability.

Globally, Brand Finance’s brand valuation and consumer sustainability rankings feature companies like Samsung, T-Mobile, and ARM.

In its early years in the 2000s, Viettel’s operations emphasized social responsibility, with a focus on human development. This was demonstrated through prioritizing mobile network coverage in rural areas. In the years that followed, Viettel continued to contribute to sustainable development goals by advancing technology access and implementing programs like For Children’s Education, Heart for Children, and Internet for Schools.

In its fourth development phase (2018–2028), Viettel aims to lead digital government initiatives to improve public services; build a digital economy to enhance wealth; foster a digital society for greater happiness; and ensure cybersecurity for public safety.

In 2023, Viettel allocated VND 259 billion to support education, healthcare, gratitude activities, and aid for disadvantaged people. That same year, it published a Sustainable Development Report with the theme Technology with Heart.

In 2024, Viettel continues to emphasize sustainability in critical areas: developing high-quality human resources, creating a digital society, ensuring information security, reducing greenhouse gas emissions, advancing green and smart data centers, and promoting transparent governance.

Brand Finance, founded in 1996 and headquartered in the UK, is the world's leading brand valuation firm. In 2023, Brand Finance and the IAA (International Advertising Association) released the first report on sustainability perception value among the top 500 global brands, allowing brands to recognize the financial value tied to their reputation in sustainable practices.
