Under the theme "Universalizing digital infrastructure and fostering digital innovation to develop the digital economy – A new driver for economic growth and labour productivity," Viettel has made substantial contributions, representing a large portion of the nation’s mobile, internet, and data infrastructure.

Not only does Viettel contribute approximately 40% of Vietnam's 4G mobile infrastructure, but it has also invested in and operates submarine fiber optic cables, which will account for over 50% of Vietnam's international bandwidth when the ADC (Asia Direct Cable) goes into operation in early 2025.

In terms of data infrastructure, Viettel owns and operates 14 large-scale data centers with a total capacity of 87 MW, supporting the development of big data processing and artificial intelligence applications. Viettel is also the first company in Vietnam to develop green data centers, reducing emissions for high-performance computing tasks.

Viettel plans to launch 5G networks in all 63 provinces and cities by October, develop 24 data centers with a total capacity of 560 MW (Vietnam’s current total capacity is 150 MW), and introduce 4 new submarine cable systems to meet 60% of Vietnam's international connectivity needs by 2030.

“Viettel aims to build the largest, safest, and most advanced digital infrastructure, including transmission, storage, and computing infrastructure, thereby forming platforms and digital service ecosystems to facilitate nationwide digital transformation and meet the national strategy for the digital economy and digital society,” said Major General Tao Duc Thang, Chairman and CEO of Viettel Group.
