At the dialogue, to support pandemic-hit workers nationwide, Colonel Tao Duc Thang, Chairman and General Director of Viettel Group presented 2.5 billion VND to the Labour Golden Heart Charity Social Fund under VGCL. Viettel's donation will be used to award scholarships to the children of needy workers; children whose father and mother died due to the Covid-19 pandemic.
This donation demonstrates the Viettel’s commitment to support, join hands with the Government to fight against the Covid-19 pandemic, affirming the spirit of running business is always associated with social responsibilities; contributing to national development.
In the past few years, Viettel has also supported and sponsored hundreds of billions of VND, to support Vietnam’s pandemic prevention and control. Of which, 450 billion VND is for the Vaccine Fund for Covid-19 Prevention and Control; 21 billion VND to support provinces and cities; 60 billion VND for the Command of Military Region 7 to buy necessities for the poor in the southern provinces; more than 94 billion VND for the program ‘Internet Connection and Computers for Students’,…
In addition, from 2014 to now, through the program ‘Vi em hieu hoc’, Viettel has also awarded more than 210 billion VND worth of scholarships to students, living under extremely difficult conditions nationwide.
