Developed by Viettel Post, the comprehensive logistics automation solutions fully automate all stages of the supply chain, from warehousing to delivery. On the morning of October 1st, Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh visited Viettel's booth at the event and highly appreciated the role of technology platforms in national digital infrastructure and logistics infrastructure.

In logistics complexes where the solution is applied, processing capacity has increased by 40%, and the error rate is nearly zero. Viettel Post's current system can handle 4,000,000 parcels per day, which meets 50% of Vietnam's e-commerce capacity.

The automation solutions are part of Viettel's strategy to build national logistics infrastructure, including logistics parks, smart border gates, and inland ports — infrastructures that facilitate the flow of goods between Vietnam, the region, and the world. All robots, conveyor systems, and control software for storage, picking, packing, and sorting are fully developed in-house by Viettel.

Currently, the solutions are applied at all Viettel Post's distribution centers, including Vietnam's first and largest smart sorting technology complex in Quang Minh Industrial Park (Hanoi) and the 130-hectare logistics center in Lang Son.

In 2024, Viettel is investing in Laos, Thailand, and China, with plans to provide end-to-end cross-border logistics solutions and launch the Vietnam-China intermodal railway transportation route, followed by additional routes connecting Southeast Asian countries.

At the Vietnam Innovation Day 2024, Viettel showcased four autonomous robots as part of the solution: drones (for transporting goods to hard-to-reach locations), AGV sorting robots (autonomous goods-sorting robots), AGV picking robots (1-ton load autonomous robots for transporting large packages), and robotic arms (robots equipped with machine vision for picking, lifting, and moving goods).

At the same event, Viettel also introduced its 5G device ecosystem and a model for green data centers.

The 5G base station and 5G baseband unit, developed by Viettel High Tech, will support the upcoming nationwide 5G rollout. Viettel’s 5G Private network is designed for automating production and applying IoT in factories and businesses.

Viettel aims to develop data centers (DC) with a total capacity of 240MW, approximately 1.5 times the current capacity of all DCs in Vietnam. The first example is the Viettel Hoa Lac Data Center — Vietnam's first green data center, with twice the average capacity, utilizing 30% renewable energy, and a total electrical capacity of 30MW.

In the next decade, Vietnam will experience the fourth wave of FDI, with industrial production and exports serving as the main drivers of growth. Logistics is expected to become a key and fast-growing industry. However, Vietnam's logistics sector still faces many limitations: logistics costs account for more than 20% of GDP, sorting processes are still manual or semi-automated, and automation adoption is only at 10%. Viettel's logistics automation solutions aim to address these challenges.
